Kestan Ltd is a limited liability company founded in 2006 by Costas Ioannou who is the sole director and shareholder of the company to date.
In compliance with the Regulations of the Association of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (SELK), Kestan Ltd is authorized to practice the profession of Statutory Auditor under Cyprus Legislation that provides for the Statutory Auditors of the Annual Financial Statements and Consolidated Financial Statements. Kestan Ltd is also authorized by SELK to practice accounting as an accounting firm in Cyprus.
The Director of our office is Costas Ioannou. Costas studied Economics and Accountancy at City University, London, where he obtained a BSc in Economics and Accountancy – First Class Joint Honours. He then worked as a trainee accountant with an audit firm in Central London and successfully passed the professional examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds the professional title of Chartered Accountant since January 1995.
Costas Ioannou also holds the professional title of Chartered Tax Adviser having succeeded in the exams of the Institute of Chartered Tax Advisers of the United Kingdom since March 1996. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus since 1995. He works in Cyprus as Accountant – Auditor – Tax Consultant since July 1995. He was the Tax Partner for nine years from 1998 to 2007 at the audit firm Grant Thornton in Cyprus – one of the top ten firms in Cyprus and the world.
From October 2016 until December 2022, he was the Principal Examiner of the Advanced Taxation – Cyprus Variant exam of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom. He had the responsibility, together with a small team of colleagues, to select the topics for examination related to Cyprus Tax Law and practice, to write the questions, answers, set the marking scheme and mark about half of the papers of each exam which was each bi-annually. In his professional career, he was also a member of the Tax Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus.
